When Rosa Arroyo purchased her home, she had no idea the house had secrets she would later unearth herself.
Everything seemed and looked normal at first. Recently, though, she decided to turn over the stone blocks on which a stove rested. They were quite heavy — perhaps heavier than she thought they would be.
But as soon as she flipped them over, she was stunned by what she saw: etchings revealed that these weren't regular blocks, but grave markers belonging to veterans. Did this mean that they were missing from their grave sites?
However, that wasn't the end of her mysterious discoveries. Turning over stones in her yard revealed more of them. Rosa was appalled, so she set up a site in her garden where these vets could be properly commemorated.
The previous homeowner claimed the stones were taken from a headstone company that discarded them because they were mistakes.
Nw, a local veterans' group is trying to find the families of these soldiers so that they can be properly honored, and so that their loved ones can have some peace of mind. What matters now is that these fallen soldiers will be given the recognition they deserve!
