The Blue Angels took to the sky last week for an air show in Pensacola, FL and gave beach-goers an up close performance!
With pilots from both the Navy and Marines, the Blue Angels are the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration squadron, known for all kinds of stunt flying.
In the video posted on YouTube, the jets buzz by and perform some of their aerial acrobatics. The crowd was treated to an awesome performance, but some got a bit more than they bargained for. At one point, the jets fly very low to the ground and unexpectedly send tents, blankets, and beach umbrellas flying into the air!
Some people react by chasing after the runaway objects, but the majority just laugh and applaud! Overall, the crowd seemed to really appreciate the stunt. No one was injured by the flying beach umbrellas.
Since it was posted on July 11, the video has gone viral and has been viewed more than a half million times! According to their website, the air show includes seven F-18 Hornets — or fighter jets — which wow spectators topping speeds up to 700 mph!
Nothing like a day at the beach, right?
