Bob Fosse And Tommy Rall’s ‘Alley Dance’ Will Bring A Smile To Your Face!

It's interesting to see how comedy and dance have evolved over time. Popular dances are constantly paid homage to, sometimes in wedding dances! This couple channeled Dirty Dancing, for example. And to see just how different today's dances are from those of 50 or 60 years ago, check this tear-jerking performance — I would never think that I would see a dance of that kind from a different era.

Movies in the 1950s and '60s played a huge part in setting the tone for the popular moves of the time. That's why this exciting number looked familiar!

The "alley dance" from the 1955 film My Sister Eileen is one-of-a-kind. It features Bob Fosse and Tommy Rall as characters Frank and Chick. In this particular scene, they are in an alley… And what else is there to do but challenge one another to a dance-off?

The dance gets very creative, and more and more competitive. They use a few props, like their hats, jackets, and a handkerchief to show off their moves. And they're quite impressive! Who knew that so many twirls and jumps could be done in suits?
