As a bodybuilder, Taryn Brumfitt's job was to stay fit and healthy, and to uphold a certain body image ideal: through competitions and her lifestyle, she perpetuated the idea of the "perfect" body.
Now, Taryn has totally changed her tune.
The ex-bodybuilder has since given birth to three children, and couldn't be more proud of her new softer figure and her curves. It wasn't an easy road to self-acceptance. Instead of being at war with her body, she chooses to nourish it and treat it based on how she feels — regardless of how she looks. She simply made the choice to be kinder and more accepting of her appearance, and says she lives a much healthier and fulfilling life!
Now, she's encouraging others to join her Body Image Movement, as she wants to help those struggling with body image issues. Her message is sweeping the internet, and now thousands are following her lead!

I always say I move my body for pleasure not punishment but that doesn’t mean some days the workouts aren’t tough, challenging and hard work! Today my friend and I did 100 squats, 100 star jumps ( I may of dribbled a little bit of wee multiple times, oops!) 100 push ups, 100 sit ups and 100 leg lunges! ouch!!

I think it’s really important to listen to what your body “feels” like doing – a few days ago I felt like nurturing my body so I chose yoga, today I needed to lose myself and wanted to push my physical limits so I chose a challenging workout.

I urge all of you in 2017 to get intuitive about what your body needs and how it wants to move (this might change on a daily basis and that’s perfectly ok!) and fuel your body for energy and vitality! I don’t believe in good food or bad food, to me food is just food but my body knows which foods feel best and what foods fuel me to have bucket loads of energy to do what I do and to keep up with my 3 little ones.

As a society we’ve become so obsessed about how we look and we’ve completely disregarded what is most important – how we feel!
When you respect, love and embrace your body you are Unstoppable, you thrive, you move more, you feel a ridiculous sense of freedom and joy.

I know this time of year there is alot of pressure to set resolutions that revolve around weight loss but I would like to challenge you all to simply choose to embrace in 2017… I’ll be with you every step of the way! “Your body is not an ornament, it is the vehicle to your dreams.”
