Deputy Finds Young Boy’s Touching Letter To His Mom Tied To Balloons

Deputy Brad Wilds says that he's used to seeing trash lining the road on Highway 139. But he never thought one piece of trash would make him stop in the middle of the road.

He tells WVLT, "I noticed it was some deflated balloons and attached to that was some string and a note. When I opened the note, I found it wasn't trash."

In fact, attached to the deflated balloons' strings was a note that a little boy named Ethan wrote to his mom, who Brad believes passed away.

The letter reads, "Even though I can't see you with my eyes, I can still see you with my heart."

Accompanying the letter is a child's drawing of a heart, with the word "Mom" written over it.

Wilds says the touching letter made him tear up, allowing him to realize just how lucky he is to have his whole family with him during the holidays.

We hope this little boy finds the comfort he needs. Sometimes sending letters to deceased loved ones can alleviate the heartache that comes from their passing by expressing their love. Even adults can send these letters, and they don't have to be addressed to loved ones, but even to strangers we admire!

We hope that wherever he is, Ethan finds the comfort he needs with this letter to his mom.
