If space is the final frontier, than our world's vast oceans have to be the next closest thing.
Do you ever wonder what you might find if you journey deep under the sea? This iPhone only caught a taste that all this amazing and enormous water world has to offer. While most of us would be too afraid or too dedicated to life on land to live our lives exploring the oceans, you have to admit that there are some pretty incredible things you can find.
Whether you're searching for the lost city of Atlantis or other ancient ruins like these treasures found hidden in the Mediterranean Sea or just interested in a friendly meet and great with all the strange ocean floor dwellers like this strange octopus there truly is something to intrigue everyone.
National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry might have had the most incredible encounter of all when he was diving near the Auckland Islands in New Zealand. As the adventure photographer got up close and personal with a 45-foot whale, another photographer was able to capture the incomparable moment in one of the most awe-inspiring photo I’ve ever seen.
As you can see, the behemoth swam right up to Skerry and looked him right in the eyes, wondering who this strange creature in his home was. Skerry, who's taken more incredible photographs of animals in the wild than you can ever imagine, says that this special moment is at the top of his list.
