I definitely still remember mine. I haven't spoken to him in years, but I think most people will agree that their first crush will always hold a special place in their heart.
Most people, I think, have lost touch with their first crushes. In fact, I doubt many of us ever expect to see that special person again.
That was the case for Kevin Walsh, a man in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kevin met his crush, Katherine Blake, at summer camp when they were 13. They stayed in touch after they left camp, but lost touch in high school.
Kevin's life carried on without Katherine Blake, but eventually, he found himself depressed and considering ending his own life.
Fortunately, Katherine Blake came back into Kevin's life in the most unpredictable way, at the most important time.

This is Kevin. When Kevin saw a question on Quora.com asking people, "What is one moment in your life you thought could only happen in a movie?" he had to answer.
Kevin and his now-wife Katherine Blake have the most incredible love story. It involves a first crush, losing touch, a random reconnection, and a lifesaving moment. It all ends in a gorgeous wedding.
Kevin met his future wife at summer camp when they were both 13. He writes:
Once upon a time I was 13 at a summer camp and the prettiest girl I'd ever seen walked right up to me and said, "black is a good color on you." No idea why. We chatted and became friends, exchanged AIM screen names (it was the time) and stayed in touch for a while.
Unfortunately, Kevin and Katherine Blake lost touch when they both went back to school. Both of their lives carried on, but Kevin fell on hard times emotionally.
Kevin was so depressed that he was thinking about ending his own life. He got as far as writing a note when something unbelievable happened. Kevin writes:
Somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds before I would have committed suicide, my phone rang. I checked the caller ID – I couldn't die not knowing. It was a number I didn't recognize, so I picked up and it was her.
Kevin was absolutely stunned. He hadn't spoken to Katherine Blake in at least a year, and here she was, calling him when he needed it most. He asked her why she called, and she said she had no reason, just felt like she needed to talk to him.
Shocked, Kevin confessed to Katherine Blake what he was about to do. She was understandably upset, but she managed to talk Kevin out of it and made him promise not to go through with his plans. She also asked him to call her the next morning.
He did.
Kevin and Katherine Blake began talking much more regularly after that night. They became closer and closer — and 10 years later, Kevin proposed to Katherine Blake, with the words he'd gone home and written down that night after she saved his life.
Do you believe in coincidences? This is so incredible that it's hard to call it just that. Kyle and Katherine Blake are now happily married, and I wish them all the best.
