Jack Hoffman had one of the greatest touchdowns of all time — and he was only 7 years old.
When Hoffman, of Atkinson, NE, was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, he and his father made a list of things he wanted to do. One of those was meeting then-Nebraska star Rex Burkhead, which he eventually got to do.
The two formed a very special bond — Burkhead and his teammates would wear bracelets that read "Team Jack — Pray.” In the video below, Hoffman even calls the football star his "best friend." Their friendship also led to Hoffman’s superstar moment.
Wearing a Nebraska uniform with a #22 jersey, Hoffman joined the university's team, the Cornhuskers, during the annual spring game in 2013. The young child ran down the field with the game ball as players directed him where to go. Just wait till you see what happens when he scores a touchdown at the 0:53 mark!
It's always emotional to see young children suffering from disease have an opportunity like this. For example, it's almost impossible not to smile when watching Batkid in action or seeing videos of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers dedicating his time to make sick children smile.
"Jack has taught me a lot about life," Burkhead told ESPN. "He's put my life in perspective. To see Jack battle, it's something I never had to go through when I was a kid. But he's still living life and having fun and laughing. Just seeing that is motivation for me. If there's anything in my life that I think is hard, I take a second look at it now."
