Mailman Comes Up With Clever Plan To Keep Customers’ Deliveries Safe From Package Thieves

People are in love with this super considerate mailman, who is honestly nicer than most people's boyfriends.

Homeowner Karissa Basalyga has one of those fancy new security cameras that lets her communicate through her phone, even when she's not home. So, when her local letter carrier came to drop off a package while she was away, she was able to directly talk to him.

"Hi, we're not home," Karissa politely told the mailman.

He informed her that the package was from her uncle. When Karissa asked if it needed a signature, he explained that he was reluctant to leave the box outside.

"Usually, I don't leave stuff at the front, if it's not from a store," he explained. You never know when a sneaky thief will run off with it, and personal items can't be replaced.

So, the mailman came up with a genius solution — he offered to put the package in her recycling bin. There, it would be out of sight and safe from thieves.

It's a simple gesture, but people on social media were really touched. Maybe it's the fact that he cares about her package so much, or maybe it's the cute way he leans into the camera with his suggestion! Best customer service ever.

"Hands down, he is awesome," Karissa told Inside Edition. "I don't think I've ever had a mailman take such intentional care with a package."
