2 Teens Spot Woman With Puffed-Up Face, Then Realize She Was Bitten By A Rattlesnake

When an emergency rolls around, we have limited time to think and act.

In Carolyn Vaughan's case, after a dangerous rattlesnake took over her usual stomping grounds, her fate was left in the hands of two strangers.

"I've been walking the trail for 10 years," Carolyn explains, still trying to figure out how this all happened.

She goes on to say, "I stepped right on the snake and I felt like, this spongy something under my foot, which completely shocked me. So I jumped up and reared my leg up and, as I did, the snake was literally still hanging on my leg."

The venom quickly made its way through Carolyn's body. Her face and body became unbelievably puffy.

She adds, "There was tingling throughout my entire body, and my face started to swell. I thought if my face swelled any more, it was going to split open. I couldn't even move my mouth to talk."

Soon, two teenage boys named Zach Russell and Ryan Rogers ran by and saw Carolyn's state. They rushed over, realized this was the result of a rattlesnake bite, then called 911 and flagged down emergency responders to ultimately save Carolyn's life.

Today, Carolyn is so grateful for the tenth graders, calling them "guardian angels" who came to her rescue.

Please SHARE if you're glad those teens were there for Carolyn when she needed help the most!
