Carpet pythons are native to Australia, so it's no surprise that many residents of the continent have come across a carpet python or two.
But it took a woman from Queensland five tries to come across a carpet python herself. And as you'll see in the photos below, I can't really blame her for missing the snake completely!
You see, the woman had just arrived home from some grocery shopping. She was bringing her groceries into the house.
It took her five trips to notice the unexpected guest lying in plain sight!
Carpet pythons' scales come in an array of colors and patterns. Whatever the exact colors were on this one, the woman definitely didn't see her coiled up right next to her each time she made her trip to and from her car.
On the fifth trip, she finally noticed the snake — and called the Snake Catchers of Brisbane as quickly as she could.
Snake catcher Lana Field said that the snake had just been silently observing the woman go back and forth. The carpet python had probably found her way down the gutters of the house and ended up near her doorway.

A woman from Queensland, Australia, was bringing in groceries from her car one afternoon, completely unaware that there was a silent intruder hiding in plain sight!

The photo above looks like a regular doorway for a regular home.
But as the woman soon found out, there was nothing regular about the unexpected guest she had!

According to the woman, she probably made five trips to and from her car without ever noticing the carpet python hiding near her.

Carpet pythons are native to Australia and known to find warm places to hide when the weather turns wet and cold.

Can you see it now?

When the woman finally noticed the carpet python, she frantically called the Snake Catchers of Brisbane.

And they definitely know a thing or two about snakes hiding in the most unexpected places!

According to licensed snake catcher Lana Field, the carpet python had probably made her way down the home's gutters and coiled around the woman's light fitting, wondering where it should go next!
Lana added that residents should always give snakes the space they deserve — and call a licensed catcher if they want the reptile removed.
