The female body is something that should be celebrated and embraced, and yet so many women still feel ashamed as their body goes through changes.
In the following video, artist and animator Celia Bullwinkel brilliantly explains why a woman's body is a beautiful creation, without having to say a word. The cartoon short film, titled 'Sidewalk', depicts a female walking through life. We see her as a young child without a care in the world, an insecure teenager, a full-figured female, an elderly woman who wishes she was young again… and every stage in between.
As she strolls, she confronts her changing body, through puberty, motherhood and menopause, and ultimately learns to love herself. This video is an ode to female empowerment, with the perfect amount of awkwardness, annoyance, and a whole lot of self-acceptance. Check this out, it's simply beautiful – and it's guaranteed to make you feel a little better about your own body!
