This Cat Finds A New Friend To Play With. The Result? Adorable!!

Nearly everyone has heard the phrase "a game of cat and mouse" before, but did you know that it actually dates all the way back to the year 1675? It's true. The constant chase between a household cat and a simple mouse has not only become a phrase nearly everyone knows, but it's also been the inspiration for iconic American animation, such as Tom and Jerry (and even the escapades between the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote).

But have you ever heard the idiom "a game of turtle and mouse?" Probably not (mostly because I just made it up). In the below video, uploaded by YouTuber Catsss, you'll see that the game of chase with all its near misses, captures, and constant pursuit does not only belong to cats and mice.

In the video, you can see as a black cat and a little turtle begin pursuing each other around a column that appears to be on the concrete porch of a house.

First, the turtle chases the cat and nearly catches her. He's much quicker than you might expect a turtle to be, but the cat gets away and runs around the column to catch the turtle from behind with her little paw.

The turtle turns around and hightails it back in the cat's direction until she runs around the column the other way.

This goes on for about 40 seconds, and it might just be the cutest 40 seconds that you'll ever experience. The way the two animals pursue each other, playfully tease each other, and run around in circles is hilarious and adorable.

This might be one strange pairing, but it's clear that cats and turtles can be buddies, too!
