It turns out that people aren't the only ones who love sitting in the sun — animals do, too.
Since he was a puppy, for example, my Jack Russell terrier Charlie always enjoyed basking in the sun. Sometimes we even sunbathe together.
There are days when Charlie even moves his doggy bed to sit directly in the sun’s rays, similarly to the adorable rescued greyhound Mr. Fry. I’ve even considered making him a special treat to help him cool down when we’re outside — like the doggy ice bath — because he often refuses to move to the shade.
I thought the love for sun was just a commonality amongst dogs, but it's clear even cats love to feel the warmth on their fur.
The video below shows a group of them sitting in a room and following the sun all day long. No matter where the sun peers in through the window, they are right there enjoying every second of it.
Soon enough all the felines are seen huddled together like one big ball, as seen at the 1:17 mark. It's just such a precious sight to see!
