When it comes to celebrities, very few countries have as many widely-recognized stars as the United States. Despite our country's obsession with celebrity culture, there are still many things about our favorite stars that we didn't know. 1. Illinois- Robin Williams
The late actor was born in Chicago, Illinois. He'd later go on to play some of the most beloved characters in cinema, including Mrs. Doubtfire and the Genie from Aladdin.
2. North Dakota- Josh Duhamel
The Transformers actor and husband to the one and only Fergie was born in Minot, North Dakota. He's also starred in the romantic movie Safe Haven.
3. Colorado- Tim Allen
Born in Denver, Tim Allen is best known for his role in the sitcom Home Improvement and as the voice of entertainment's most beloved toy astronaut, Buzz Lightyear.
4. Oregon- Kaitlin Olson
Olson was born in Portland, Oregon. She had multiple minor roles in shows such as Family Guy and Curb Your Enthusiasm before landing a role as Dee Reynolds on the show It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
5. Delaware- Aubrey Plaza
This actress was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She's had roles in a few films, including Funny People and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but she's best known for playing April Ludgate in the hit show Parks and Recreation.
6. Texas- Matthew McConaughey
Thanks to his incredible acting skills and unmistakable voice, this actor from Ulvalde, Texas has become a household name. Some of his more recent hits include Dallas Buyers Club and Magic Mike.
7. Tennessee- Megan Fox
The leading lady of the first two Transformers films, Megan Fox was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Later on, she starred in the dark-comedy horror film Jennifer's Body.
8. Pennsylvania- Bradley Cooper
He might have gotten his break in The Hangover, but this star from Philadelphia has proven he's good for much more than a laugh. He's also starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook and played Chris Kyle in the biographical war film American Sniper.
9. Michigan- Kristen Bell
Whether you know her from her role in the TV series Veronica Mars or from the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, there's no doubt that this actress from Huntington Woods, Michigan is one of the most lovable celebs out there. She even became a Disney princess when she voiced Anna in the movie Frozen!
10. Alabama- Channing Tatum
The actor who got his big break in Step Up was born in Cullman, Alabama. Tatum has since starred in many popular films, including 21 Jump Street, Foxcatcher, and Magic Mike.
11. Hawaii- Jason Momoa
Whether you know him as the title character from Conan the Barbarian or as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones, you probably recognize Honolulu-born Jason Momoa. You'll get to see him on the big screen again in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he will play the role of Aquaman.
12. Montana- Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams was born in Kalispell, Montana. She's known for her award-winning work in films such as Brokeback Mountain, My Week with Marylin, and Blue Valentine.
13. Minnesota- Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota, and since then, he's established himself as a talented and diverse actor. He's done everything from playing comedic roles such as when he was Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation, to voice acting in The Lego Movie, and to being an action hero in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World.
14. Virginia- Sandra Bullock
The award-winning star of Gravity and The Blind Side was born in Arlington County, Virginia. She was also named People's Most Beautiful Woman in 2015.
15. California- Angelina Jolie
After starring as the title character in the film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, this Los Angeles-born actress's career really took off. She's starred in action films including Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Salt, and in 2014, she became a Disney villain when she portrayed the title character in the fantasy movie Maleficent.
