When Elvis Joined Celine Dion On Stage, Nobody Could Believe Their Eyes…

It's hard to believe that the late and great "King of Rock and Roll" has been gone for nearly 40 years.

Although some conspiracy theorists like to believe that Elvis Aaron Presley is still alive, the rest of us are left to remember what life would have been like if The King was still sitting upon his throne. Elvis, who would have turned 80 in 2015, might look like he does in these artist representations or he might be living a quiet life in Graceland, but we like to hope he'd still be performing.

All we have left are amazing performances like this one, where he performed with Frank Sinatra, but do you ever wonder who else would make a great match for The King? The producers of American Idol decided to bring back Elvis' spirit to perform with another one of music's all-time greatest singers: Celine Dion.

In the following clip, Dion takes the stage for an "impossible" performance with the man she grew up idolizing. Celine spent hours performing her part of the song next to a body double, then the footage of Elvis' original performance was combined with Celine's using a technique called rotoscoping, which cuts out Elvis and makes him appear like he's live on stage to the viewers at home.

When Elvis first performed "If I Can Dream" back in 1968, Celine was just a newborn baby, but as you can see in their virtual duet, great talent transcends time.

What do you think of this time-traveling performance?
