Thank goodness for talent season, because there’ve lately been no shortage of incredible performances from around all corners of the globe.
Recently, we shared with you a phenomenal cover of Whitney Houston’s iconic “I Have Nothing” by 12-year-old Maia Gough on Britain’s Got Talent24-year-old Gerphil Geraldine Flores on Asia’s Got Talent9-year-old David Militello on America’s Got Talent. Now, another incredible talent has caught our ears.
International phenomenon Charice something of a protégé to Asia’s Got Talent judge David Foster. In the show’s latest episode, Charice and Foster join forces in a duet for “Lay Me Down,” a song popularized by pop music heavyweight Sam Smith. Unfamiliar with Charice’s music before today, I was wary of how her cover would go over with the crowd. But as soon as she begins to sing, it’s made immediately clear that she has not only the technical skill, but also the range to execute this beautiful song – all while adding her own signature touch to the ballad. And hearing David Foster speak so highly of her only serves to solidify her position as a contender in music of various appeals.
