Chris Rock’s Daughter Gets Kicked Out Of School: ‘Rich White Schools, They Don’t Play’

Actions have consequences. It’s a parent’s job to make sure that their children understand this. Things can get muddy when one is a child of a celebrity endowed with an enormous amount of privilege. Chris Rock made sure his daughter Lola knew what was up.

Lola got in trouble on a high school trip to Portugal. She thought it was all good, but Chris was not having it and asked the dean of the school to kick her out so she could learn an important life lesson. Chris opened up about this in his recent Netflix special, Selective Outrage.

"Lola and four of her little white girlfriends decided they were bored," Chris began. They decided to sneak out and go drinking. It is novel for American teens to drink in Europe, especially since the legal drinking age is typically much younger than the United States and more socially acceptable.

"Of course, they got busted. Rich white schools, they don't play that [expletive],” Chris went on to say. As a father, he wasn’t having it, either.

The other girls and their families quickly got legal representation to fight this high school matter. This caused Chris to realize his daughter and the others involved might not be in touch with reality. They were not taking this seriously and thought they could get away with it.

"Lola is like, 'Daddy, stop it. You're so serious! I'll be back in school in no time,'" Chris recalled. He knew he had to step in. Lola needed to learn a lesson.

Instead of fighting with the school, Chris decided to work with it. He told the dean, "I need you to kick my daughter out of this school." Chris believed this was the only way to make Lola see the error of her ways.

"I need my Black child to learn her lesson right now before she is up on OnlyFans and some [expletive]. Please kick my child out,” Chris urged.

Chris got his wish. "They kicked her out. They kicked them all out, but they kicked my child out first,” he recalled.

Lola is now 20 years old and studying the culinary arts in Europe. She had to work hard to regain her standing after her mistake but did so with grace, Chris makes sure to tell audiences. He does not regret giving his daughter the much-needed tough love.

Chris shares two daughters with ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock. The couple were married from 1996 to 2014, when Chris filed for divorce.
