For Ciera Rill and her husband, Troy, parenthood wasn't something that came easily. In fact, it seemed nearly impossible.
Ciera learned that she was unable to ovulate and was considered infertile. Then, she and Troy heard about in vitro fertilization (IVF).
In the video below, posted on April 24, 2017, Ciera and Troy explain their journey. The Rills heard that IVF might be an option for them. Despite the stress, time, and cost, they decided to give it a try.
Unfortunately, their first IVF treatment failed.
"I always wished it was my problem — not hers," Troy says in the clip.
That failed IVF treatment made the couple second-guess their path and hold off for a while.
Then, in 2014, they decided to give IVF a second shot. Afterward, Ciera's doctor called with the news they never expected to hear. He told the Rills that they were going to be parents. The IVF treatment worked, proving to the couple that the second time was the charm.
Ciera recalls the moment her doctor called on a Memorial Day weekend. "We both cried, like, ridiculous happy tears," she says.
Today, Ciera and Troy treat every day with their daughter, Lynea, like a miracle.
"She's something special that, every day, amazes us," Troy gushes about his little girl.
