I Didn’t Understand Why He’d Put An Iron On Salt At First, But Now I’ve Got To Try…

Has anyone ever told you you were "worth your salt?" If they did, you should be flattered! The phrase actually comes from ancient Roman times, when salt was so valuable it was said to pay soldiers' wages. (The word salary actually comes from sal, the Latin word for salt.)

Throughout history, salt has been so treasured, it's inspired many common phrases, such as "salt of the earth," "take it with a grain of salt," and "above/below the salt."

But sadly, nowadays, salt is cheap, ubiquitous, and taken quite for granted…

However, after unearthing these incredible salt-based cleaning "hacks," salt may be making a powerful comeback.

We all have special tricks for cleaning, like using a lemon to scrub off hard water stains — but these tricks are totally new to me! Who knew salt was so amazingly versatile? I'll be grabbing a fresh canister on my way home tonight!
