Dad Thought 9-Year-Old Was Experiencing Asthma, Then He Goes Into Cardiac Arrest

One day, Kevin Hasebe thought that his son Colton was just having his asthma acting up, but it quickly turned into something much scarier.

When Kevin took him to the emergency room, he collapsed at the front desk and employees immediately performed CPR.

Kevin was terrified, and when he called his wife Rachel, all he said was, "It's bad."

The emotions and shock these two parents must have been going through couldn't be described in words, but thankfully, their little boy woke up.

He had gone into cardiac arrest and when his brain became deprived of oxygen flow. The damage done was similar to those of a stroke.

He had to learn how to do things on his own again, and the chances of a full recovery were not guaranteed.

Fortunately, with the combination of Colton's hard work and determination, and the incredible support he had from his family and the brilliant workers at Boston Children's Hospital, made Colton a miracle story.

Now, he's 11 years old, walking and talking on his own, and constantly defying the odds. He may have some setbacks, but he shows serious hope to so many struggling families.

Thankfully, his is a story of success after treatment at BC Children's, maybe that's the place someone else's child needs to try!
