Flowers are the perfect way to effortlessly add beauty into your home.
But sometimes it's hard to find the right pot to go along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers — and the wrong pot can be so distracting.
So if you're a home decorator who loves flowers and the notion of originality, then this DIY cement planter is something you have to try. (If you want to take it a step further, you can also try these wax flowers after!)
Despite how it sounds, the cement planter is fairly simple to make.
Supplies:
- Sand concrete mix
- Water
- Orange juice container
- Mixing stick
- Paper cup
- Duct tape
- Scrap paper
The first step is to cut the top of an empty orange juice container and begin pouring the concrete mix into it. For every two cups of concrete you pour, you also have to add a 1/2-cup of water. Then mix it around with a stick until you get a “peanut butter consistency.” Once mixed, place a small paper cup inside the middle of the container to create a hole for your plant. Let it dry for about 24 hours and then take away the cardboard container and cup.
If you want to paint the concrete planter, the hosts of the video also explain how to do that.
Finally, place soil and your plant into the concrete planter and there it is, a one-of-kind decoration!
