A Michigan Police Officer has gone above and beyond to keep his promise to serve and protect the people of his community.
Officer Ben Hall of Emmett Township, Michigan received a call to investigate a driver with a child not in a car seat. When He pulled over Alexis DeLorenzo, her friend who was driving, and DeLorenzo's 5-year-old daughter, he knew the routine. No matter what he's pulling people over for, there's always a story.
However, Hall was touched by DeLorenzo's story of how her car was repossessed with her daughter's booster inside and that she couldn't afford a car seat. Hall knew he had a clear cut decision to make and thought to himself that giving her a ticket didn't solve the situation. That's when Hall asked the single mother to meet him at Walmart in 5 minutes.
What happened next just melted my heart. While most officers would gladly hand out tickets when a person is in the wrong, Hall made a heartwarming judgement call saying it was "the best $50 bucks he had ever spent".
