Cop Picks Up Doughnuts Before His Wedding, But Hears Commotion In Shop And Runs To Investigate

Indianapolis police officer John O'Rourke was in Orlando, Florida, to get married when duty called.

The cop wasn't expecting to find himself at the right place at the right time. The morning of his wedding day, he stopped at a doughnut shop for breakfast.

He heard a commotion in the dining area. After investigating, he found that a 3-year-old girl had suffered a seizure — though no one there called 911.

The cop jumped into action, calling for an ambulance and starting chest compressions to revive the girl.

Thankfully, John was able to bring her back to consciousness, saving her life. He says that after the experience, he had to sit in his car for 20 minutes to process all that had happened. Thankfully, he wasn't late to his own wedding! He married his bride, Virginia, later that day.

John also received a free box of doughnuts to take with him, as a thank you for his service. He now has quite the story to tell about his wedding, making it that much more memorable! Friends and guests were reportedly not surprised that John found himself in such a situation.
