With many reports of the tension between cops and citizens, it's nice to be reminded that the vast majority of police officers have our best interests at heart. They keep us safe on a daily basis and even make people's lives better in ways that are not in their job descriptions. Check out this cop who bought a bicycle for a man who walked six hours to work everyday and this officer who coaxed a man off a ledge with a cat!
Police were responding to a call about disorderly conduct when they found a group of Washington D.C. teenagers on the brink of fighting. Instead of using force to break up the fight, one of the cops, who doesn't want to be identified, used a very creative way to diffuse the altercation.
She challenged one of the teens, 17-year-old Aaliyah Taylor to a dance-off!
The rules they creates stated that if the cop won, the teens would leave. But if the teens won the dance-off, the cops would have to leave.
The two duked it out to "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" and "Bet You Can't Do It Like Me" by DLow.
The clip shows the two in an intense battle for the best moves, until finally the teen gives out. Even with all of her equipment, the officer won and the teens had to leave the neighborhood. But something tells us that they didn't leave upset or angry — just quite entertained!
We love that this good cop found a way to avoid violence. Her actions are even being praised by President Obama himself!
If you admire this officer's actions and want to thank her for her service, please SHARE!
