If you're anything like me, the couch is one of your favorite places in the whole world.
After a long day of work, there's nothing better than stretching out on the sofa with a glass of wine in one hand and the TV remote in the other. And no Saturday morning would be complete without pajamas, a cup of tea, and the newspaper spread out across the coffee table.
Some might say I'm lazy, but to me, there's nothing more relaxing than my comfy couch in my cozy home. Sure, there are some beautiful, mysterious sights to behold in this big, wide world — and when I can afford to, I'd love to explore them all. But for now, when I'm in need of a relaxing getaway, I look no further than my own living room.
And because I'm so in love with my couch, I'm always looking for ways to improve it — fluffier throw pillows, a downy blanket, maybe a cute ottoman?
Then I saw this adorable DIY project from Francois Et Moi and I literally gasped! This is just the thing my couch has been needing. I've seen similar items in stores, but they were always either ugly or overpriced. But this is adorable and cheap, and I can't wait to give it a whirl!
Will you be making this at home? Let us know how it goes.

Step 1: Gather your supplies! You'll need a 1'x8' hardwood board, and the items below.

Step 2: Use a circular saw to cut your board into three pieces. You can do this at home or at the hardware store. The width and height of your sofa’s arm will dictate the size of the cuts.

Step 3: Sand all the faces of the board until they're perfectly smooth.

Step 4: Use Gorilla Glue to attach the pieces. Allow the glue to dry overnight.

Step 5: Apply strips of painter's tape evenly around the boards. Press the strips hard so they're nice and secure.

Step 6: Spray paint the entire piece, both the top and underneath. Apply two coats and allow to dry.

Step 7: Peel off the tape and spray with clear sealer.

Now you have an adorable couch perch! Wasn't that so easy?
