They say true love never dies. Don't believe it? Well, meet Milt and Leona Ramoy, a couple who was married for decades and never once let their romance die.
Like the pair who died hours apart after 70 years of marriage, these two truly demonstrated what it meant to love another soul unconditionally.
In 2002, the Ramoys appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and gave a heartwarming interview recalling powerful moments from their beautiful love story. Their words might even bring tears to your eyes, just like the couple who passed away holding hands.
"When people ask me, 'How long have you been married?' I truthfully say, 'Not long enough,' " Leona said. "It's just been like yesterday."
The couple met when Leona was only 17 (Milt was eight years older). They had been through a lot together, including the period during which Milt was stationed overseas. During that time, he wrote Leona tons of love letters, which she saved for the rest of her life. With each word Milt wrote, it was clear how strong their bond was.
"I would marry you again, gladly," Milt told her. "You're everything I dreamed of. You've lived up to all my expectations."
Milt passed away in 2005 and Leona followed in 2012, but their love story will never be forgotten.
