Beards, much like the men who have them, come in all shapes and sizes. For some men, hair grows slowly, while for others, their hair grows rather quickly. Some are curly, some are straight, but all these fuzzy faces are striking!
But at in the Whiskerino Contest that takes place at the Helldorado Days 4-day festival near Las Vegas, each cowboy has one objective: to grow out the longest, most luscious locks possible.
The cowboys compete for longest beard, longest mustache, and the best overall among other categories.
Then, the men line up and let the judges measure their mustaches and beards to see if they got a top prize! For some men, like winner Rusty Carlson, competing in Whiskerino is a family affair: before him, his father competed in beard contests. Since he was a kid, having a beard was just a part of life.
Just check out all those beards: it must have taken each man weeks, and perhaps months to grow them out this much. Imagine carrying all that hair on your face — it must get pretty heavy, after a while!
