The cow is easily one of the most misunderstood animals there is.
Like hogs, who are also often falsely perceived, people have cows all wrong. While some believe that these farm animals are submissive creatures that lack feelings, they are actually the complete opposite. They are full of life and have emotions just like the rest of us.
As written in an article by Jonathan Leake for The Sunday Times in 2005, "Cows have a secret mental life in which they bear grudges, nurture friendships and become excited over intellectual challenges, scientists have found. Cows are also capable of feeling strong emotions such as pain, fear and even anxiety — they worry about the future. But if farmers provide the right conditions, they can also feel great happiness."
Have you ever seen a cow make a clever escape from a barn or learn to do some epic tricks like a pet dog? Probably not, right? Well, the video below brings the brilliance of a cow to the forefront.
The cows featured are intelligent, lovable, and one-of-a-kind. (The one at the 1:07 mark completely blew my mind!)
The video, shared on Facebook by Animals Australia, already reached more than 40 million views after only a few days, proving that many are amazed.
Please SHARE to help change the wrong perception of these lovely animals!
Everyone should see this side to cows.
Warning: you're probably going to want to go out and hug a cow after watching this.
