As a kid, my mom grew up on a farm with plenty of cows providing fresh milk and butter for her whole family over the years. They would give them all names like Mottle, Dot, Beautina, and Teddy Bear, and I have to say I'm so jealous of that experience. Growing up in the suburbs, I only saw the beautiful bovines while driving past them on the road. If I was lucky, I could spot some on the land behind my aunt and uncles' house. I've always had an affection for these animals, and it's one of the reasons I became a vegetarian as a teen. One look at those sweet faces and I was hooked!
I'm not the only one who feels like these pretty ladies deserve some extra love. A group of musicians have even brought their instruments out to the farm to put on a show for a group of gals! It might seem strange, but everyone loves a good tune now and then — even farm animals. One thing I never realized about cows, though, is how playful the cuties can be.
The herd in the clip below have so much fun running around and playing with their bright orange bouncy ball. If you squint, they look more like dogs than any beast of burden! The silly animals actually hop around on their hooves while chasing it around the grass. But then, their playtime gets cut short when the farmer takes the ball away.
They do not look happy about it as they stare down the man as if to say, "Hey mister give us our ball back!"
