Everyone has gone through a rough time at some point or another. Whether you struggled with health, family, money, or something else entirely, every single person needs a helping hand from time to time.
One man named Mark found himself living on the street. He was struggling, but he tried not to let it get him down.
Craig Wells, another man living in the same town, saw Mark one day and knew he had to do something to help.
Craig and his family were out at a restaurant having a nice meal when Mark walked by outside. He was completely barefoot and carrying his sleeping bag over his shoulder.
Immediately, Craig ran outside and stopped Mark to ask how he could help. When Mark mentioned that he didn't have any shoes, Craig didn't hesitate to offer him the shoes off his feet.
Afterward, Craig went online to share his experience. Read Craig's message below!
[H/T: Love What Matters]

Craig shared his story on the Facebook page Love What Matters, and it got a lot of attention.
Within just five days, the post had over 16,000 reactions and 1,400 shares.

Craig explained:
Today, I was in Wagamamas having a nice meal with the family, when I was drawn to Mark walking along the street without any shoes on — and his toes hanging out of his socks.
Immediately, I ran outside to catch him.

He mentioned how he didn’t have any shoes and that he would love a pair.
I asked what size he was, and he was exactly the same size as me! (Coincidence? I think not!)

So, I took my shoes (my favorite trainers) off and gave them to him.
He then started to cry and gave me the BIGGEST hug saying ‘Nobody has ever been so kind.’

Then, he went around the corner out-of-sight and put the trainers on and emerged STILL crying. As we left the restaurant he was outside.
We hugged again, made sure he had shelter for the night, told him he is loved and that we will be thinking and praying for him.

We got emotional and parted ways.
I then proceeded to walk around Nottingham with just my socks on until I could replace them.

There is nothing worse than self praise and I certainly don’t want it.
What I do want is people to recognize that LOVE is the greatest gift we have been given.

It was given to us freely and freely we should give it away. So my challenge to you is this…
How have you loved on someone today?? Love is the best gift we can wish for, so PASS IT ON!!

Clearly, everyone who saw Craig's story was blown away — and many people vowed to do more to help others.
