Normally, not many animals would be much competition for a tiger. I mean, these animals prey on some pretty large and fierce animals in the wild.
That's why the red-crowned crane in the video below is a true champion whose bravery should be noted. The clip, taken by a visitor at a zoo in Hangzhou, China, shows two tigers chasing the long-legged bird after he fell into their den.
We've seen tigers be friendly to smaller animals before, including the one who was taped playing with a Jack Russell terrier and the one who playfully wrestles with a human, but it's certainly rare.
So, when it comes to the crane in this scenario, you'd probably assume he'd be doomed the second he landed among the tigers. Yet, he's able to defend himself in a miraculous way leaving the zoo guests stunned.
At the :07 mark, you see the crane using his big wings to intimidate the tigers. And when they start chasing the crane again at the :29 mark, he's able to outsmart them one more time. It's truly unbelievable to watch just how courageous this Japanese crane is.
Luckily, according to the video's caption, zookeepers eventually came and rescued the crane, who only suffered minor injuries.
Watch the video below and please SHARE if you're surprised by the crane's bravery!
