Incredible Technology Within This Cube Allows It To Balance Perfectly On One Of Its Corners

When you think of a walking robot, a metal, human-shaped machine probably enters your mind. The Cubli is about to change that, though. This 15-cm² cube was designed at Switzerland's Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control, and from the looks of it, it's got the power to shape the future of robot technology.

Technology has made unbelievable progress in just the past few years, and even though most of us can't even comprehend most of the advancements that have been made, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to appreciate how cool it is to watch a machine do intricate surgery to sew the skin back onto a grape. The Cubli is another invention that has complex inner workings, but simple appeal. I mean, who isn't impressed by watching a cube jump around and balance itself on one of its corners?

The video does a much better job at explaining how the Cubli works than I ever could. As it turns out, there's a lot that goes into making a six-sided geometric figure "walk" across a table. But the technology that's used in the Cubli is good for way more than just entertaining houseguests — it might be the key to allowing robots to finally take over the world. Kidding. Maybe. It could be used to help robots self-assemble, so as long as we keep artificial intelligence out of any machines that could essentially build themselves, we should be safe… for now.

Isn't this the coolest little cube you've ever seen? If you love the Cubli as much as I do, SHARE this video with your friends so they can geek out with you!
