Upon first glance, it's easy to be fooled into thinking that the image in the video below is a cup of water on a table. But look again — it's actually a drawing on a simple piece of white paper. Shocking, I know!
Yet, 3-D art has the power to make a drawing look so realistic that it's easy to mistake it for reality. For example, there's the paintings of icebergs done with pastels and Jordan Molina's paper feather, both of which are incredible works of art that don't look fake at all.
Below, the artist named Stefan Pabst uses only a pencil and eraser to draw the cup of water. After completing the image, he cuts the paper around the rim of the glass, ultimately helping it look as real as possible.
In less than a month, the artistic video received more than a million views on Pabst's YouTube channel and tons of comments from amazed viewers.
"I am a professional and passionate artist and I want to inspire people through my art videos," Pabst explains. "I want to show that you can do anything with painting. I want to show the magic of painting."
