I know that vinegar can do a lot of great things around the house, but I had no idea it could solve one very annoying problem!
You know when you're cutting onions, and even if you try to do it quickly, your eyes start watering? I've heard that if you cut them close to an open flame, it will help stop the tears, but I've tried that and it doesn't quite work. I've also heard that chewing gum while you cut them works, but I don't always have that on hand. I do have vinegar, though, and now that I know all I have to do is wet my cutting board with it to cut onions tear free, you can bet I'll be doing that from now on!
This vinegar trick, along with a few other great ones (like how to chill your white wine without watering it down), are all included in this kitchen hack video. You learn something new every day!
