The fact that a story likes this comes up every now and again shows that some people just don't learn. Revenge is a tricky subject, due to the argument over whether someone deserves their comeuppance or not, but as we've seen time and again, when it comes to package thieves, revenge is a dish best served cold.
Or, in the case of Cory Hovanec, messy.
Hovanec's mom sent a Valentine's Day gift to his son in Spokane, WA, back in February 2016, but an unknown man allegedly snatched the package right off his front porch.
"Our neighborhood's just sick of it," he says in the video below, implying package thievery happens a lot in his area.
So Hovanec decided to do something about it.
A builder by trade, Hovanec rigged up a very special package, leaving it on his porch in the hope of catching another would-be thief in the act.
And that's exactly what happened.
A surveillance video caught a man in a hooded sweatshirt walking up to Hovanec's porch and taking the package he created before scurrying away.
Hovanec did not confront the man, nor did he call the authorities.
Why? Well, I won't give the details away, but when you watch the video, you'll see that Hovanec's package had a special, messy surprise in it.
Hovanec says that his trap isn't about retribution — he just wants these would-be thieves to stop terrorizing his neighborhood.
And after opening the package, I don't doubt they did. Please SHARE this story if you agree or disagree with Hovanec's methods, and let us know why!
