While diving in the Philippines back in April, one of the divers noticed what appeared to be an injured Manta Ray swimming by. As it came closer it became clear that a fishing line was not only caught on her right wing, but it was also cutting through her skin.
The diver knew immediately that he had to help this injured beauty. After several attempts to cut her free, he was finally able to remove the barnacle encrusted fishing line.
This Manta Ray must have known he was there to help since she swam with the diving team for about 10 minutes afterwards. What an amazing and emotional experience!
