When I was about 3 years old, my brother decided to give my bangs a trim. It only took about two seconds while my mom's back was turned for him to snip the angled chunk out of my strands, much to her chagrin. His timing couldn't have been more hilarious, though, as the next day was our annual photo day at my preschool!
While my mom wasn't pleased to see the impromptu new hairdo, mother of four Fiona Lippey is much braver and optimistic when it comes to her oldest daughter giving everyone a cut.
The boys, 10-year-old Sam and 4-year-old Tristan, don't seem very eager to allow their sister, 8-year-old Jacqui, near them with the shear, but Fiona finds some clever ways to help them agree to the ordeal.
The precocious youngster uses CreaClip, a simple device intended to help families save money on trips to the salon. After giving her mom a short bob, the baby of the family, 2-year-old Elora, is up next. She couldn't be more thrilled with the result!
I have to admit, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to let someone who's still in elementary school chop away at my hair and totally feel the boys' apprehension! Lippey, however, seems pretty pleased with the outcome for her freshly cropped crew.
Of course, Jacqui manages to be the only one without a makeover at the end. Perhaps Mom will let one of the boys take a stab at it, too.
