Florida mother April Emery is sitting behind bars after being charged with child neglect.
April Emery's two daughters were found going door-to-door barefoot at 10:30 in the morning when they should have been at school. When asked why the two girls were doing such a thing, their response was heartbreaking, "We are out selling toys to help mommy stay in the house."
After receiving a phone call from a concerned parent, the local police found the girls about a half-mile away from their home. The officers brought the two back to their mom, who, when woken up from her slumber and told of what occurred, only responded with anger at her two little daughters.
She was allegedly angry because the two girls had forgotten to wake her up so she could bring them to school that day. When officers realized that she had no concern for her daughters' safety or well-being, they arrested the mother and took her to jail.
So, while most mothers are busy loving their daughters, this mom was taking a nap while her two kids were knocking on strangers' doors trying to sell their own toys!
The girls are staying with their father at the moment. Emery's arrest was reported to the State, and an investigation on allegations of poor child care has begun.
