David Simmons never imagined he would lose something so important to him. The day he lost his wedding ring, he wasn't sure what to do.
In the video below, posted on February 16, 2017, David explains, "I had taken it off to work on my daughter's car and put it in my pocket and when I went down to the parts store, I guess I pulled my hand out of my pocket and it dropped out on the ground and I didn't realize it."
What could be worse than losing your wedding ring? Perhaps losing your wedding ring only days before Valentine's Day — which happens to be your 30th wedding anniversary as well.
Unfortunately, all of the above happened to poor David.
Thankfully, the ring wasn't lost. A woman at AutoZone spotted the piece of jewelry in the parking lot and immediately went inside and turned it in to the store's employees.
Then, once the AutoZone employees called the police, it wasn't long before the story of a woman discovering a lost ring was aired on the news.
When David's daughter was out getting her nails done, she overhead someone talking about the story at her salon. Then, she realized it was her father's ring they were talking about. He brought his wife's ring, which had an inscription on the inside identical to his, to the police station and finally retrieved his ring on Valentine's Day. Now that's a great 30th anniversary gift!
Thanks to the woman who turned in David's wedding ring, the special band is now back on his finger where it belongs.
A happy David says, "It's things like this — you hear all the bad things, but there's more good people in the world than not, and this just reinforces your faith."
