By the time she was 23 years old, Delilah had achieved the kind of success most people don't have in their entire lifetimes.
A young woman with a passion for cooking, she had become a caterer to the stars, providing food for Universal Studios and even catering The Grammys.
On one fateful day she was asked to go down to Skid Row. What she saw there completely changed her perspective on life.
Skid Row is a 54 block area in Los Angeles. It has the highest population of unsheltered homeless people in the United States.
"I got kind of bored working at Universal catering, it was just a point in my life where I needed a deeper meaning," Delilah said. "Then I got a call asking me to comedown to Skid Row. When I first got down here it was a little bit shocking… What kept me staying here was definitely the kids."
Sometimes it can take a bit of seeing to believing. When 9-year-old Katie Stagliano saw that her homegrown cabbage could feed a few hungry homeless people she knew also knew that feeding the less fortunate was her calling in life.
Delilah knew that she could make more of a difference in Skid Row than in the walls of some corporation. So she quit her job and began working for the Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row.
Everyday, as the head chef, Delilah feeds thousands of homeless with the help of volunteers.
