Single Mom Is Crushed When The Music Stops, But Makes A Powerful Comeback!

Singing on the X Factor stage is a lot different than anything Denise Weeks is used to, but this hard-working single mother has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

After falling on hard times, Weeks began singing on New York City subway cars for tips, a career that sees more hardship and disappointment than success. Weeks took to busking to provide for her two children, who lost their father at a very young age. Now that her son and daughter are all grown up, Weeks can finally take some time for herself and focus on her singing aspirations.

For her X Factor audition, the 41-year-old chose a touching classic from another woman with a powerful voice and an unbreakable spirit, Whitney Houston. However, Weeks let her fear get the best of her and rushed her performance of "Greatest Love Of All". The harshest judge of all, Simon Cowell, stopped Weeks and asked her to start over. The look on her face says it all. She thought she completely blew her one shot at becoming a star.

When Weeks tried the song a capella, she wowed the crowd with the emotion and raw talent she was hiding all along. Simon clearly had a sweet spot for this mother and tells Weeks, “Guess what, The X Factor’s been waiting for you,” at the end of this heartwarming clip.

Check out Week's touching performance… She might just inspire you to pursue the dream you've been putting off for too long!
