When people talk about wanting to make a dent, it's usually referring to making dent in the universe or a difference in the world.
One may also say they made a dent in their savings if they've been a little too friendly with their wallet.
Most of the time, people don't talk about making actual dents in their heads. Obviously, that's not the kind of injury someone normally survives.
However, Twitter user Cade Huckabay recently shared some photos of his dented head after it became severely sunburned.
We've all been a little sunburned before. But the extent to which Cade suffered from symptoms listed by the Mayo Clinic like redness and extreme swelling are what makes this a case where it's definitely time to see a doctor.
The images he shared are pretty shocking and serve as a reminder that we should always apply sunscreen no matter what time of year it is.
Cade shared these photos with the caption, "One time I shaved my head, got severely sunburned, & swelled up just a little bit :-)"
For reference, this is what Cade looks like when he is not severely sunburned.
To demonstrate the extent of his swelling, Cade decided to press down on his forehead for the camera.
The result? A real dent in his head. Unfortunately no amount of aloe vera can quite fix that.
Here you can see the spot where it was dented slowly begin to rise up again to its current natural swollen state.
Cade's look is the one of a man who knows he should have invested in some SPF.
Since Cade shared his affliction on Twitter, there was no shortage of hilarious comparisons. This one just goes to show that it could be worse.
Of course, misery loves company, and Cade is not the only person who has experienced temporary facial deformation at the hand of the sun.
It can be easy to forget to wear sunscreen during the cooler months, but our favorite star still transmits dangerous UVA and UVB rays all year round.
So, make sure to apply your sunscreen and to keep your head the texture it should be.
