A Woman Communicates With A Dangerous Black Leopard

We know aggressive dogs can be calmed – just watch an episode of Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan — but what about wild animals? A clip from the documentary The Animal Communicator proves that it’s indeed possible.

Anna Breytenbach, a professional animal communicator, was called to South Africa's Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary to help a black leopard originally named Diabolo. Diabolo was rescued from a European zoo where he faced years of abuse. In turn, he became a “suspicious and vicious” animal, who snarled at anyone who approached him.

“He’s very, very dangerous, towards me and towards everybody else,” said sanctuary founder Jurg Olsen. “The chances of an animal communicator changing that, it will take a lot to convince me. I honestly do not believe that an animal can talk to a human or communicate with a human. I’ve had animals my whole life.”

But, desperate, Olsen decided to give Breytenbach a chance.

The minute Diabolo saw the woman at the 4:16 mark, his whole demeanor changed. But that’s not all: Breytenbach was able to silently communicate with Diabolo. She spoke of his concerns and also revealed that he wanted his name changed.

"He wants that name changed because he doesn't like the associations with it — the blackness, the darkness," Breytenbach said.

Later that day, the leopard left his enclosure and became a completely new leopard. He was also renamed Spirit.

“It’s two different animals, two totally, totally different personalities,” said Olsen, who broke down at the 10:55 mark.
