3 Men Dine And Dash At Restaurant Only To Send A Letter 5 Days Later With Exact Cash For Bill

When you enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant, there is always a moment of hesitation that arrives along with the bill.

No one is ever thrilled to sign away their hard-earned cash, but sitting down at a restaurant and ordering food comes with the understanding that you'll be paying for it.

Still, that doesn't always stop people from doing the unthinkable — dining and dashing.

Free food may be the best food, but a meal acquired by dining and dashing is straight-up stealing.

When a group of men in the UK recently left an African restaurant called Kilimanjaro without paying, the owner, Apollo Apollinaire, called it a "bad experience," according to The Independent.

Since most customers pay for their food without question, staff aren't always on high alert for suspicious behavior, and Kilimandjaro was ready to cut their losses.

However, five days later, Apollo received an envelope in the mail: stuffed with cash and a typed letter.

The restaurant owner shared the letter on Facebook with the caption:

Don’t be quick to judge; It is better questioning then give time to yourself for an answer before you judge.

Read carefully then you will understand that there are honest people over there too.

The typed note came with a total of £40 (about $54 US) — which covered their meal plus the tip — and a lengthy explanation of what happened the day these men dined and dashed.

The letter reads:

It is my companions and I sincerest apologies that on December 8th, 2017 we forgot to pay our bill. It was very unlike us, which is why we are very remorseful.

Our meal, consisting of two Waka Waka chickens with cheese and one Waka Waka Chicken came to a total of around £35.

Following our meal, we proceeded to pay the bill by card, before being told that you do not accept card. We responded by agreeing with a member of staff, that we would go collect cash from a nearby A.T.M machine.

We then exited Kilimanjaros to embark on a search for the A.T.M Machine. On our search, it was apparent that the last train to our hometown was shortly about to depart.

This diverted our attention away from finding an A.T.M. machine and led us to running down to the train station and just making our train.

It was at this point, being too late, we realized our actions and decided to write this letter of apology with £40 enclosed in this envelope.

It is with our deepest regret that not being from Middlesbrough we are not able to come to Kilamanjaros in person to apologize. Additionally, we will be giving a positive five-star review of your establishment on TripAdvisor.

All is well that ends well. It just goes to show that later is better than never when it comes to paying your debts.
