Husband Lines Up Five $1 Bills On Diner Table And Reveals Offensive Tipping Method On Facebook

Growing up, most children learn how to tip from their parents. Whether you're a low tipper or a high tipper, you probably still fall in the range of tipping 10 to 25 percent of your bill amount, which is what's considered generally acceptable in America.

Most people tip based on the quality of their service, which is what waiters/waitresses generally expect. Well, one couple recently shared their tipping method on Facebook, and people definitely did not agree with it.

The post says:

So I took the wife out to dinner last night, and we have always talked about doing this. You put 5 singles out on the table at the beginning of dinner for the waiter/waitress to see. (Don't say anything to them) if they mess up, you take a dollar away, and so on.

At the end of dinner, how ever much is left, is their tip. I s*** you not, you will receive the best service of your life. The waitress kept looking at it as if she was confused. But she played her cards right, did a great job and received the whole 5 bucks. I did take away a dollar tho bec she forget [sic] the bread, but she bounced back and gave us extra.

Haha all in all a great evening with my love and a good dinner experiment we both wanted to see play out. Try it, you will be surprised!

One woman was so upset at what she read that she replied, "This is how you get spit in your food. If you want good service, go above & beyond to be polite & treat them w/ respect."

Another person wrote, "Sounds crazy, but a lot of waiters/waitresses give [bad] service if they think you won't tip."
