Woman Offers Her Signature Spinach Artichoke Dip To Anchors, Leaves Them Gagging On-Air

In 2016, the co-hosts of "Global News Calgary" dedicated a full week to sharing their own special holiday recipes. Leslie Horton, a reporter and mother, wanted to contribute to the segment so she whipped up a batch of her spinach artichoke dip and brought it on-air for her co-workers to try.

But the second Leslie put the bowl of dip on the table and peeled back the plastic wrap, she knew something was amiss. "It's not supposed to look like that," she said.

Leslie first explained how she'd been so busy that week, but her family insisted she something from scratch for the week of holiday recipes at work. Instead of making the fruitcake she initially planned to bring, she decided on an easy no-bake artichoke dip.

Her three co-workers took one whiff of the artichoke dip and were hit with the strongest stench of vinegar. Only, Leslie said there was no vinegar in the recipe whatsoever.

When it finally came time for the taste test, Jordan was brave enough to pop a cracker in his mouth topped with a giant spoonful of dip.

Let's just say the segment did not turn out the way they thought it would. It did, however, score the news station a viral video hit with over six million views.
