It’s a fact that as much love and companionship as we’re afforded by our animal friends, they too rely on us for help now and again. Whether they're our pets or animals out in the wild, we’re occasionally approached for help — and it’s our duty to make sure they get it.
When one scuba diver discovered a puffer fish with a hook caught in his mouth, he didn’t hesitate to act. The good Samaritan saw it swimming past and, by some incredible miracle, managed to wrangle the little guy and, after a little bit of a struggle, unhook the object from the fish’s jaw. It’s impossible to know for certain if the fish would’ve survived without the diver’s assistance, but it would’ve no doubt been debilitating.
This is, of course, just one of many examples of human compassion saving the life of a wounded animal in need. Semi-recently we posted a video of a man who appears to be terrorizing a pelican, but instead baits it in order to untangle netting from the bird’s beak that would have left it starved and unable to survive. Again, each and every one of these small acts of kindness make big differences in the lives of these creatures.
