Summer is here and it is definitely the perfect time to invite people over for an outdoor party or barbecue.
One problem that often comes up is keeping track of whose drink is whose. I've seen several creative ways to solve the problem, like using chalk on the bottom of your wine glasses, or writing your name on a rubber band. But when I saw this brilliant and creative way to label drinks for my next barbecue, I knew my "labels" would be the hit of the party.
I found this idea on Instructables and I've never seen anything like it. These drink markers are not only beautiful to look at, but they are delicious as well. What a great idea!
Using only a few cookie cutter shapes, some fresh fruit, and a handful of skewers, these drink garnishes are perfect for someone like me. They are inexpensive and so easy to make. I can't wait to show them off for my friends and family this summer.

To make these edible drink markers, all you need are some alphabet cookie cutters, skewers, and slices of your favorite fruit. Melons, apples, and mangoes work great, but just make sure they are firm and not too ripe!
Slice all of your delicious fruit into 1/2-inch thick slices and use your alphabet cookie cutters to cut out letters from each fruit slice.
You may need a fork or spoon to help push the fruit letter out of the cookie cutter. One of the best techniques involves smacking your palm down on the cutter with one swift motion!
Once you've got all of your fruit letters cut out, it's time to spell out the names of your party guests on skewers! Simply skewer the letters, using a small berry like a blueberry to bookend each name.
These fruit name skewers are so easy to store by simply chilling them in the refrigerator. But make sure not to freeze them, as the defrosting process can cause your letters to droop!
