Reduce, reuse, and recycle where possible, sure. But if you're anything like me, you may sometimes find yourself racking your brain for new ways to repurpose old materials. When we saw this one, we had to pass it on — it's a great use of plastic bottles and it's a neat idea for all you crafty types: no-sew zipper cases.
Here's what you'll need for this project:
- At least 2 empty plastic bottles
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- A zipper
Begin by cutting off any plastic or paper labeling on the outside of your plastic bottles (wash any excess stickiness off if necessary). Then, cutting in a straight line, cut off the bottoms of the plastic bottles (two are needed to make each case). Remember that how far up or down you cut each bottle will determine how long your case will be. Glue the zipper onto the inside of the bottle with the zip facing out. Zip your zipper, and finishing gluing the other bottle half. Follow the video below for clarity of each step, and voila! Great cases for pens, pencils, makeup brushes, or any other item.
